"New journey started"  (Journal 1, 17 June 2012)
Whenever we think of the word "Journey" , we will always think of our destination. Studying Ph.D. program is like a challenging journey that  , I know eventually, ends up with  bright success. However, a route that leads me to the achievement is absolutely not covered with rose petals. I have to study some required courses, and today is my first course taught by Assoc.Prof. Maturos, Ph.D. The overall contents of the course are about how to utilize ICT in education. After I preview a course syllabus, I know abruptly that I will gain lots of productive knowledge from this course. After spending more than 6 hours studying, I have learned lots of mandatory features of the websites that I need to know before studying. For example, how to use Maxlearn, how to access to "Pirun", how to create a facebook group , as well as how to create a blog. These are very useful in terms of my study and teaching profession, a blog in particular. To be honest, I have heard lots of people talking about using a blog but never once I have thought of using it. I think I need some time to play around all features in a blog before conducting something useful for others via my own blog. I really enjoy the lesson today. Hopefully, I can make use of a blog for my students soon. :)

"First Step into Website" (Journal 2, 24 June 2012)
It seems like today I have landed onto an unknown planet, a planet of website creation. Today I've learned lots of new knowledge from the class such as how to search for information through "google" as well as how to create a personal website. The former is not too difficult to accomplish but the latter is such a far fetched one for me. The website tools and services I've used today derive from Web 2.0. I've created my personal website using notepad, dream weaver, and power point. Although all of these mentioned are quite fundamental for others but for me they are quite complicated. I have to concentrate on my lesson and follow what the professor contrues step by step. However, I can get all tasks done by the end of the class though it isn't fluent enough. Lesson learned today: Practice makes perfect. Thank you Aj. Maturos as well as my classmates in helping me getting through this unknown realm. :)

"My Beloved Pirun" (Journal 3, 1 July, 2012)
Today I woke up with lots of concerns regarding my group report as well as my individual project turned in on Friday. I was definitely willing to hear some comments from my teacher. And I actually do. She sent us back the comment drafts of all students and let us comments for one another. This teaching technique is truly productive for all of us. In fact, it is part of peer feedback. And once we can give accurate feedback for other people's work, we will gain more self-awareness when we do our own work. We spent the whole morning commenting on individual projects and our teacher also went through the project 2 roughly in order to provide us a clear-cut notion of what we should come up with for the next project. The teacher ,besides , construed a bit about the concept of e-learning , learning styles, and curriculum management in Thailand as well. In the afternoon, it is what I would say "paramount". I studied how to create our own website on Pirun utilizing PhotoImpact which was somehow a lot better than using Powerpoint.  I learned how to create and manipulate website background , links, banner, welcome message, and pictures. All of these are not too difficult but they are not a piece of cake for a computer novice like me. Anyway, I can finally create my own website on Pirun thanks to Aj. Maturos and my classmates. We helped out with one another till we all achieved the similar goals. After class dismissed, Nueng and I went straight to the main library to look for some resources about Web 2.0 and Web 3.0. I was so astonished that only few of mentioned resources were found. I therefore decided to search for information online as well as resources from other libraries. That's all for today. Love you my Pirun. :)

"More to Explore" (Journal 4, 8 July, 2012)
Time flies so fast , as we all know. It is one month that I have been studying PhD program at Kasetsart University. Yesterday I got a great opportunity to attend "Rub Nong Cha Long Pi" party. I think it is more than a party because what I've got from this party is inspiration and encouragement from PhD graduates , senior friends, as well as all professors in the division of curriculum and instruction. I'm so glad and honorable to be part of this division. Anyway, today my teacher came a bit earlier than other previous weeks that made me a bit surprise. A thought came to my mind that lots of contents to be learned today absolutely, and my thought became true. :) The teacher started off with how to insert animated  video files and songs on our Pirun website utilizing Photo Impact. This will make my personal website more appealing and dazzling for visitors. This is my first time to experience this kind of thing especially "Free Midi". To be honest, I absolutely have no idea about these files before. Then, I learned how to make a web page , Classmate, using Dreamweaver. For this task, we all had to take a group photo which I thought my face was not ready for that. I ended up with having a Classmate page with links to others' Pirun. That's so awesome. In the afternoon, I started with modifying my personal blog. The teacher had us brainstorm for the solution of posting due to the posting difficulty the teacher experienced. From this frustration, I have learned that there is a new google tool in this (www.) world called Google +. Personally, it is like Facebook in some ways but I need time to explore all features prior to being swayed from my facebook. After that, I was more excited with adding new gadget called "HTML/Javascript". This gadget is pretty cool in the way that I can add more animation into my blog. Anyway, I need to learn how to write a code using Notepad before enjoying with the result. Next, the teacher asked us to create new pages for e-portfolio on our blogs which leaded to a discussion on assessment and evaluation. Lots of terms filled in the room such as authentic assessment, performance-based assessment as well as task-based assessment, etc. Although I have known some of the terms , I feel a bit hesitated when being asked to explain clear-cut theory. This is why I need more exploration in the world of curriculum and instruction. For me, knowing nothing is a chance to learn new things. "Fighting", that is what I told myself. :)

"My lovely Voki" (Journal 5, 22 July 2012)
Today we started our class with an intrigued question by the teacher concerning what we've learned from the two previous individual and group reports. I would say that I've learned a lot via the report conducting process. One thing that I reckon as a salient key of doing a report is a thorough understanding concerning a report process. First, I have to comprehend what I've been assigned to do. I have to be able to come up with an idea of where I should commence. Then, I will have to search for information from various learning resources regarding the topic I've got as well as reading what the other groups have posted on Maxlearn because I will gain some ideas to adapt with my topic. To be honest, I have to be well-prepared because the sooner I profoundly understand my topic, the sooner I can make an outline for a group report. I don't want to waste my time on that. Later on today, the teacher taught us how to make a "rollover", having layered pictures changed concurrently  with a mouse motion. This is awesome for me and it improves the appearance of my website a lot. In the afternoon, I've got an idea on how to repost my assignments on Maxlearn on my personal blog. This will not be complete if I don't have my Pirun. At last , the teacher came to the climax. She recommended us to use some productive and interesting Web 2.0 tools such as dropbox, edublog, as well as voki which I am head over heels in love with it. Now, I am trying to create lots of my voki to be implemented in my class. I hope my students will be more actively engaged with my lesson.  Thanks "my voki" :)
